Men's Swimming and Diving Defeats Bard on the Road

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (10-4) earned a non-conference victory on the road against Bard (1-6), 60-33, on Saturday, Jan. 21.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Junior Brandon Arias (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) placed first in the 1,000 free (12:04.94).
  • Freshman Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison) finished first in the 200 free (1:59.47).
  • Junior Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech) won the 50 free (25.72).
  • Sophomore Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:16.92).
  • Junior Jackson Forrest (Lewes, Del./Wayne Valley) secured nine points in the one meter dive with a final score of 153.55.
  • The Pioneers were victorious in the 200 medley relay with efforts by Forrest, Colligan, Arias and junior Anthony Newman (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), finishing with a time of 2:00.13.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Newman posted a personal best in the 200 free (2:18.83).
  • Sophomore Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech) placed a personal record in the 200 IM (2:37.23).
  • Forrest finished the three meter dive with a personal best 189.75 final score.
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to NJAC play, travelling to Mahwah, N.J. on Friday, Jan. 27 for a 6:00 p.m. meet against Ramapo.
