Men's Basketball Drops Down-to-the-Wire Tilt to Ramapo, 69-66

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (8-7, 2-6 NJAC) fell short to Ramapo (7-8, 3-5 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest, 69-66, on Jan. 11 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Roadrunners held a 12-point advantage (63-51) with 3:55 remaining in the game before William Paterson erupted for a 15-4 run to make it a one-point game (67-66) with less than a minute remaining. During the run, junior Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) scored eight points, including two timely 3-pointers.
  • Ramapo buried a shot with 26 seconds on the clock to extend the lead to three, 69-66, and the Roadrunners went on to grab the win as the Pioneers were unable to get a quality look at the basket in the closing seconds.
