WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (1-2) defeated Neumann (3-5), 7-0, on Sept. 24 at Wightman Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Lotte Scale (Ourderkerk aan de Amstel, Noord-Holland/Cygnus Gymnasium) scored the Pioneer's first goal in the third minute of the match, with an assist by graduate student Jillian Bigos (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South).
• Junior Heather Stauffacher (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) added an insurance goal in the 13^th minute, assisted by graduate student Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.).
• Hoopes tallied another goal for William Paterson in the 16^th minute and Bigos recorded her second assist on the day.
• Senior Catie Wilson (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) posted a goal, to make it 4-0, in the 29^th minute.
• In the first minute of the second half, Adrian Dieckman (Little Egg Harbor, N.J./Pinelands Regional) recorded her first goal of the season, with an assist from Wilson.
• Dieckman scored the next two goals in the 48^th and 55^th minutes, with assists by Wilson and Hoopes.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Dieckman recorded a career-first hat trick against Neumann.
• Scale and Stauffacher posted their first goals of their careers.
• Wilson scored her first goal of the season.
• Hoopes tallied her second goal of the season.
