Field Hockey Topped in Midweek Tilt by FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. – Despite holding FDU-Florham (6-3) scoreless for the final three quarters of play, the William Paterson (1-3) field hockey team was unable to overcome an early deficit and ultimately fell to the Devils, 4-2, on Sept. 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Devils scored four unanswered goals in the opening quarter to gain the early advantage.
  • William Paterson got on the board in the 18th minute after graduate student Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) found senior Gina Piscitelli (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) for the score.
  • The Pioneers trimmed the deficit to two following a goal from sophomore Sara Thomas (Lake Hoptacong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) in the 40th minute of action off a feed from Hoopes.
