Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Union

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS 

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (0-2) dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Union (3-0) Sept. 10.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A long pass up the middle of the field was finished 1v1 against the goalie 5:08 into the contest, giving the Dutchwomen a 1-0 edge.
  • Union made it a 2-0 game in the 27th minute with a rebound goal.
  • A finish at the right post extended the Dutchwomen's lead to 3-0 at the 35:21 mark.
  • The Pioneers got on the scoreboard less than a minute later when senior Catie Wilson (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) converted off a penalty corner for her first goal of the season.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Kourtney Hartzel (York, Pa./West York Area) made a career-high 13 saves for WP.
  • Graduate student Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) had two defensive saves and senior Gina Piscitelli (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) added one.
