Pioneer, Scarlet Raiders To Play For ECAC Tournament Title

DANBURY, CONN. -- Ninth-seeded William Paterson (15-12, 9-9 NJAC) is set to face second-seeded Rutgers-Newark (19-9, 13-5 NJAC) in the ECAC Men's Basketball Tournament championship game on Sunday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. 
 
HOW TO CATCH THE ACTION WHERE TICKETS
  • Entry into the game is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
  • The WP/Rutgers-Newark winner will be crowned the ECAC Tournament Champions.
 
WP IN THE ECAC TOURNAMENT
  • The Pioneers are making their fourth ECAC Tournament appearance (1987, 1991, 2018, 2022), advancing to the 1987 final. This is the first finals appearance for WP since 1987.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
  • William Paterson is 15-12 overall and 9-9 in conference play this season, most recently taking down fourth-seeded Penn State Altoona (19-8, 11-3 AMCC) 86-81 Mar. 5, in the ECAC Tournament semifinals..
  • A member of the All-NJAC First Team, graduate student guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) leads the Pioneers with 17.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game, adding 4.9 rebounds per contest.
  • Junior forward Michael Gilmore (Teaneck, N.J./Pine Forge Academy) is a key Pioneer contributor off the bench, averaging 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
  • Junior forward Yvens Monfleury (Newark, N.J./American History) leads WP on the boards with 6.8 rebounds per game, chipping in 10.7 points per contest.

SCOUTING THE SCARLET RAIDERS
  • Rutgers-Newark is 18-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play this season, most recently defeating Penn State Behrend (19-6) 66-50, March. 5, in the ECAC Tournament Semifinals .
  • A member of the All-NJAC First Team, senior guard Quincy Rutherford leads the Scarlet Raiders with 15.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
  • Senior guard Abe Kromah, a member of the All-NJAC Second Team is averaging 14.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.
  • Senior guard BJ Honis adds 11.0 points per game.
