MORRISTOWN, N.J.- The William Paterson women's tennis (1-2) team secured its first win of the season, taking down Saint Elizabeth (0-3) on the road, 8-1, March 30.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The team of senior Taylor Mastropasqua (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) and junior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) secured an 8-1 first doubles win, while the Pioneers were granted the final two doubles matches by forfeit.
• WP won five of six singles matches, two of those by forfeit, while Saint Elizabeth won the final singles match of the day.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Seniors Alicia Mitchell (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany Hills) and Kayla Miller (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne), along with junior Gianna Labiento (Lynbrook, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy), secured the singles victories for the Pioneers.
