Freshamn Shane Apito earned wins for the Pioneers in the 200 IM and 500 free

Men’s Swimming and Diving Downed in Regular-Season Finale by Montclair State, 144-94

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (6-6, 0-4 NJAC) finished off its regular-season schedule with a defeat at home against Montclair State (7-2, 2-2 NJAC),144-94, Feb. 5.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) led the way for the Pioneers, securing two first-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:25.20) and 500 free (5:41.69).
  • Senior William Pike (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) contributed to the Pioneer total, touching the wall first in the 200 breast (2:46.22) and fourth in the 100 breast (1:16.34).
  • Sophomore Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech) earned his first win of the season in the 100 fly with a time of 1:08.74. Ordinola also finished fourth in the 200 free (2:09.93).
