Men's Swimming and Diving Posted Seven Personal Records in Win Against Brooklyn

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (5-4) earned a non-conference win against Brooklyn (1-2), 87-53, at Wightman Pool on Saturday, Dec. 3.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison) was victorious in the 200 free (1:59.02) and 100 back (1:01.16).
  • Sophomore Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:14.08) and 100 fly (59.58).
  • Junior Brandon Arias (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) finished first in the 1,000 free (12:22.45).
  • Junior Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech) secured a first-place finish in the 50 free (25.04).
  • Junior Jackson Forrest (Lewes, Del./Wayne Valley) finished the 1-meter dive with a score of 100.10.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Arias secured two personal bests in the 1000 free (12:22.45) and 500 free (5:54.54).
  • Byrd's first-place finishes in the 100 back (1:01.16) and 100 breast (1:13.99) were personal records.
  • Junior Jason Peralta (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) posted a personal record in the 1000 free (15:35.21).
  • Junior Anthony Newman (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany)n earned a personal best in the 100 back (1:13.47).
  • Apito recorded a personal best in the 500 free (5:29.29).
