Women’s Basketball Falls on Road at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (6-3, 3-2 NJAC) dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game to Stockton (8-2, 3-2 NJAC) on Dec. 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • William Paterson trailed by six (16-10) at the end of the first quarter, but the Ospreys opened the second frame on a 16-2 run to build a 20-point advantage. Stockton maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way and picked up the conference win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Brianna Smith (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) led all WP scorers with 10 points.
  • She extended her double-digit scoring streak to four games.
  • Senior Justina Cabezas (Carlstadt, N.J./Becton Regional) reeled in a team-high seven rebounds.
  • Sophomore Victoria Palladino (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) tied her season-best steal mark of three.
 
UP NEXT:
  • The Pioneers will travel to New York on Tuesday, Dec. 13, to face off against Brooklyn at 6:00 p.m.
