GLASSBORO, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team was topped by No. 2 Rowan, 8-1, in an NJAC match on Oct. 8.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Owls put up six unanswered goals in the opening half.
• In the 42nd minute, a shot by freshman Lotte Scale (Ourderkerk aan de Amstel, Noord-Holland/Cygnus Gymnasium) was saved before junior Heather Stauffacher (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) found the loose ball and put it into the back of the cage.
• Rowan added two additional scores in the final frame.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Stauffacher notched her second goal of the season.
• Sophomore Kourtney Hartzel (York, Pa./West York Area) made 11 saves in goal.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson will head to Galloway, N.J., on Tuesday, Oct. 11, to take on Stockton for an NJAC match slated for 5 p.m.
