Field Hockey Triumphs in Overtime at Stockton, 2-1

Dieckman Nets Game Winner in 62nd Minute

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (2-5, 1-2 NJAC) found the back of the cage 63 seconds into overtime for a dramatic 2-1 conference victory at Stockton (6-6, 0-3 NJAC) Oct. 11.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Senior forward Catie Wilson (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) tipped in a ball in traffic in front of the goal, her third goal of the season, to hand the Pioneers a 1-0 edge in the 26th minute.
  • The Ospreys scored the equalizer just three seconds before halftime.
  • Hoopes deflected a pass toward the right post and junior forward Adrian Dieckman (Little Egg Harbor, N.J./Pinelands Regional) finished for the game winner at the 61:03 mark, her fourth goal of the year.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Kourtney Hartzel (York, Pa./West York Area) collected seven saves for WP.
  • The victory was the third straight for the Pioneers against Stockton.
