BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (3-2, 0-1 NJAC) went 3-1 at the Sarah Lawrence Invitational on Oct. 22, defeating Sarah Lawrence 136-16, Purchase 125-59 and Bard 114-39. The Pioneers fell short to Western Connecticut State 116-77.
 

TOP PERFORMERS:

• Freshman David Rios (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) earned his first win of the season in the 100 free with a time of 53.15.
• Freshman Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison) achieved a first-place finish in the 100 back, recording a 1:03:40 mark.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Anthony Newman (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) recorded a personal best in the 50 back with a time of 35.39.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson travels to Baruch on Oct. 28 for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
