Men’s Swimming and Diving Earns a 90-76 Win Against Bard on Senior Day

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (6-3) honored its seniors William Pike (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), Thomas Haughey (Folsom, Pa./Ridley), and Valentine Perez (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West), while earning its fifth straight win as the Pioneers downed Bard (0-5), 90-76 on Jan. 22.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Sophomore Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech) led the way for WP, earning wins in the 50 free (25.25) and the 100 free (56.16).
  • Freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) earned a first-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.99 and a second-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.44.
  • Perez contributed points to the Pioneer total, touching the wall second in both the 100 free (59.31) and the 200 IM (2:33.16).
  • Haughey secured second place finishes in the 100 back with a time of 1:11.29 and the 1000 free with a time of 13:07.64.
