WAYNE, N.J. – Senior outside hitter Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) had match highs of 17 kills and 12 digs, but the William Paterson volleyball team (1-2) was unable to overcome visiting Drew (3-0), 18-25, 20-25 and 22-25, Sept. 7.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers and Rangers were tied at 22-22 late in the third set, but Drew was able to use an ace and two errors to put away the victory.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior middle hitter Leila Ksiyer (Bogota, N.J./Bogota ) had 10 kills and 10 digs, and junior middle hitter Kathleen Burrough (North Burlington, N.J./North Burlington) collected 11 digs. Senior setter Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) dished out 26 assists.
