Field Hockey Suffers 8-0 Road Setback to No. 16 Vassar

Pioneers Fall on the Road to Ranked Vassar

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Brewers put the first goal on the board early in the first quarter at the 5:09 mark as a redirect on a corner shot found its way to the back of the cage.
  • WP showed strong defense in the second quarter as they held Vassar to no goals, but The Brewers went on to score four goals in the third quarter, making the score 5-0 heading into the fourth.
  • The Vassar offense then continued to generate goals in the fourth quarter as two corner shots from the top of the circle and a shot from the right side all connected to finalize the 8-0 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Hoagland's 11 save performance was a career-best number.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson will return home on Monday, Sep. 20, at 7:00 p.m. as they host Ceder Crest.
