Tennis Drops Home Opener to New Jersey City, 6-1

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson tennis team (0-1, 0-1 NJAC) opened its spring campaign by falling to conference opponent New Jersey City (1-1, 1-1 NJAC), 6-1, March 30.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After dropping first and second doubles flights by identical 8-1 scores, sophomore Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) got WP on the board by registering a 6-2,6-3 triumph in second singles. However, the Gothic Knights would regroup and take the final three singles matches for the 6-1 victory.
