Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – Trailing by as many as 24 points, William Paterson men's basketball (0-2, 0-2 NJAC) rallied to make it a one-point game with just over a minute remaining before ultimately falling to Montclair State (2-0, 2-0 NJAC), 83-79, Saturday afternoon at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Red Hawks had the hot shooting hand for most of the first half, knocking down 20-of-39 (.513) shots from the field, including nine three-pointers and led by 48-24 with 3:24 left on the clock. The Pioneers would close out the frame on a 10-2 run and trailed 50-34 at intermission.
  • After the break, WP seized the momentum, outscoring MSU 22-9 over the first 11+ minutes to cut the deficit to three (59-56, 8:27). MSU would regroup and built the lead back to nine, 76-67, with just over three minutes to go. An 11-3 WP burst, highlighted by five points from Jadon Cepeda (West New York, N.J./Memorial), made it a one-point affair, but Montclair State sank four crucial free throws in the final moments to hold on for the 83-79 triumph.
