WAYNE, N.J. – The Women's Swimming and Diving team (0-1, 0-1 NJAC) came up short in their season opener, 158-84 against conference rival The College of New Jersey (1-0, 1-0 NJAC) Feb. 13.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- Junior Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) recorded two second-place finishes in the 100 back (1:11.90) and 200 IM (2:32.50). Friedman also placed third in the 100 fly (24.72).
- Freshman Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) tallied a second-place finish in the 50 fly with a time of 30.33. Krajewski also contributed points with three third-place finishes in the 50 breast (35.93), the 50 free (28.44) and the 200 IM (2:37.82).
- Junior Leah Santonastaso (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) contributed points to the Pioneer total with a second-place finish in the 500 free (6:47.21), a third-place finish in the 100 free (1:10.13), and a third-place finish in the 1000 free (13:54.49).
- Freshman Hannah Cardenas (Hackettstown, N.J./Mount Olive) touched the wall second in the 50 back (34.21) and third in the 100 free (1:05.13).
- Sophomore Alexia Garcia (Teaneck, N.J./Immaculate Conception) earned a second-place finish in the 100 breast (1:21.39) and a fourth-place finish in the 50 breast (36.45).
UP NEXT:
- WP will return to Wightman Pool Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1:00 p.m. as they virtually compete against Montclair State.
