WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-1, 0-1 NJAC) dropped its road and conference opener at Rowan (3-0, 2-0 NJAC), 110-45 on Nov. 5.

TOP PERFORMERS:

• Sophomore Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) earned the lone first-place finish for the Pioneers in the 50 free, posting a time of 26.10. Malandro also finished second in the 100 free with a time of 57.67
• Senior Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) contributed to the Pioneer total, touching the wall second in the 100 back (1:08.57) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:27.70).
• Senior Leah Santonastaso (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) posted a second-place finish in the 500 free (6:25.69) and a fifth-place finish in the 200 free (2:23.33)
• Sophomore Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) also earned a second-place finish in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 1:08.17.
