MONTCLAIR, N.J. –The William Paterson field hockey team (6-4, 0-2 NJAC) suffered a 3-0 setback to New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Montclair State (6-4, 1-1 NJAC) on Oct. 6.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Red Hawks' first goal came less than one minute into the contest as a shot from the right side struck the back of the cage.
• Montclair State scored two goals in the fourth quarter, burying a shot from the left side at the 46:32 mark and connecting on a turnaround shot at the 57:23 mark for the 3-0 lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore goalie Emily Hoagland (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) earned six saves for the Pioneers.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson continues its three-game road trip as the Pioneers travel to Centenary Friday, Oct. 8, at 3:30 p.m.
