KINGS POINT, N.Y.- The William Paterson volleyball team (13-5, 3-5 NJAC) fought hard on the road after trailing early at The United States Merchant Marine Academy (19-3), but ultimately fell, 3-1, Oct. 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• USMAA secured wins of the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-18.
• The Pioneers stayed alive, taking set three 26-24.
• USMAA won the set four 25-13.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior middle hitter Leila Ksiyer (Bogota, N.J./Bogota ) led WP with 21 kills and 12 digs.
• Senior outside hitter Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) registered 25 digs.

UP NEXT:
