Field Hockey Falls on the Road at Ramapo, 4-2

MAHWAH, N.J.- The William Paterson field hockey team (8-6, 1-3 NJAC) fell on the road to Ramapo (11-4, 3-2 NJAC), 4-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match on Oct. 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Ramapo opened the scoring in the second minute of the game, but the Pioneers answered back quickly in the fifth minute, off a goal from graduate student Kristin Freas-Papa (Westville, N.J./Gateway Regional).
  • Ramapo regained the lead midway through the second period.
  • Sophomore midfielder Louise Natasi tied the game at two in the 43rd minute off an assist from senior back Alicia Mitchell (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany Hills).
  • Rampo scored two unanswered goals to end the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freas-Papa collected her sixth goal of the season.
  • Natasi scored her third goal of the season.
  • Sophomore goalie Emily Hoagland (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) registered eight saves.
