WAYNE, N.J. – The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has announced its schedules for the 2021 men's and women's basketball seasons. The eight-game slate of regular-season competition will begin on Friday, Feb. 5, if conditions permit.
Under this scheduling model, created to adhere to the NCAA's Sport Science Institute Resocialization Recommendations for the Return to Sport, each team will play the same opponent on Friday and Saturday, alternating host sites. This means that William Paterson will host a single game for one gender on Friday, and a single game for the other gender on Saturday. League doubleheaders will not be conducted this season.
If conditions allow, the NJAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments will be conducted during the first week of March. The tournament details will be determined at a later date. The winners of the NJAC Tournaments would receive the league's automatic qualifications to the NCAA Division III Championships.
WP's game times will be announced at a later date, and spectators will not be permitted. William Paterson plans to offer live video and live stats for all basketball contests hosted on its campus.
Announcements about other NJAC sports' competitions and championships are expected to be made at a later date.
