Men’s Basketball Suffers 92-69 Loss at Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (6-7, 2-4 NJAC) dropped its New Jersey Athletic Conference road contest to Rowan (6-7, 2-4 NJAC), 92-69, Jan. 8.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • An early back-and-forth affair saw WP cling to a one-point lead, 28-27, with four minutes remaining in the first half, but Rowan scored the frame's final 14 points to take a 41-28 edge into the break.
  • The Profs would lead by as many as 17 (49-32, 17:29) before the Pioneers made their move, eventually cutting the deficit to eight (66-58, 7:47) on a three-pointer by freshman guard Jadon Cepeda (West New York, N.J./Memorial). However, William Paterson would get no closer as Rowan ran away with the contest late, 92-69.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) finished with a team-best 12 points, while classmate Justin Lingat (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and senior Sean Smith (Moraga, Calif./Campolindo) added 11 tallies apiece.
