Big Second Half Carries Women’s Soccer to 4-0 Win at New Jersey City

Five Pioneers Have Multi-Point Efforts

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – All of the scoring came during the final 42 minutes as the William Paterson women's soccer team (5-2-2, 1-1-1 NJAC) earned a 4-0 conference victory at New Jersey City (6-3-1, 0-1-1 NJAC) Sept. 28.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior midfielder Danielle Dachowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) headed in senior back Ashley Cozzi's (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) corner kick for her fourth career goal and a 1-0 edge in the 49th minute.
  • Senior midfielder Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) made it a 2-0 margin at the 52:17 mark, collecting her first goal of the season with a successful penalty kick.
  • Dachowksi's through ball set up a 1v1 opportunity for senior forward Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville), and she finished for a 3-0 lead in the 81st minute.
  • Cozzi's corner kick was headed home by senior midfielder Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls), her 18th career goal, for the final 4-0 score at the 82:21 mark.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) had four saves, securing her second shutout of the season and seventh blank sheet of her career.
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to Pioneer Soccer Park Wednesday, Oct. 2, for a 7:00 p.m. clash with Drew.
