GLASSBORO, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer (4-2-1, 0-1 NJAC) owned the lead less than three minutes into the contest, but host Rowan (4-3, 1-0 NJAC) was able to secure a 3-1 win Sept. 21 during both teams' conference opener.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Senior forward Corrine Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) sent a through ball for classmate Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville), who struck from the top of the box for a 1-0 WP advantage 2:35 into the contest.
• The Profs flicked in a shot to even the score in the 21st minute, then chested in a pass for a 2-1 edge at the 37:25 mark.
• An unassisted goal during the 78th minute of play finished the scoring for Rowan.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Pioneers, the third double-digit total of her career.
