Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – A pair of goals from senior Michaela Meillier (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross) boosted the William Paterson field hockey team (5-3) to a 4-0 triumph against visiting Neumann (2-5) Sept. 20.   
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Meillier scored twice in the second quarter to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead at halftime.  Meillier first deflected a pass from sophomore Hope Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) into the left corner of the cage (26').
• Meillier's second goal was unassisted in the 30^th minute.  The forward found the back of the cage from the stroke mark. 
• Shortly after halftime, sophomore Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) deflected the ball around the goalie (34').  Senior Shannon Super (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) contributed the assist. 
• Sophomore Abigail Viola (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) kept up the momentum by scoring less than two minutes later in the 35^th minute.  She dribbled around the circle and dodged the goalie. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior goalie Kerianne Brown (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) and sophomore goalie Tara Weniger (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) shared time defending the cage.
• The Pioneers tallied 13 shots on goal while the Knights recorded zero.
