MADISON, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (3-2) was victorious for the second time this week after outscoring Drew (1-4), 3-1, on the road Sept. 11. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Although the Rangers had an early lead, senior Brianna Reyes (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) recorded her first goal of the season and jumpstarted the Pioneer goal scoring in the 13^th minute to tie the contest.
• Sophomore Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) also notched her first goal of the season by taking a straight shot to the cage from the top of the circle (35').  Senior Shannon Super (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) gave Hoopes the short pass she needed to get the ball within the allowable scoring zone.
• The score was finalized in the 38^th minute when senior Michaela Meillier (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross) sent a pass to sophomore Abigail Viola (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.), who then shot the ball past the goalie and into the left corner of the cage.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior goalie Kerianne Brown (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) tallied three saves in her fifth start of the season. 
• The Pioneers have defeated the Rangers in four of the last five contests against them.
