PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Following a B Final relay victory and multiple placements in event finals, the women's swimming and diving team posted sixth place of 13 Division III teams and eighth of 17 total teams after day one of the Metropolitan Championships Feb 22. 
 
TOP PERFORMERS:

• The women took first in the B Final 200 free relay in 1:44.37 with efforts from senior Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) (26.50), freshman Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) (26.05), senior Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) (26.52), and senior Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) (25.30).
• WP took fourth in the B Final 400 medley relay by touching the wall in 4:19.37.  The combined effort from Reynolds (1:02.26), junior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) (1:15.32), junior Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) (1:04.03), and Murphy (57.76) boosted the Pioneers in the meet.
• Reynolds continued her strong performance for day one by placing sixth in the C Final of the 50 free with a time of 25.93.
• Sophomore diver Sara Haller (Cupertino, Calif. /Monta Vista) earned 328.05 points for fifth place in the three-meter diving finals while junior diver Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) recorded 320.15 points to rank sixth.

• Events begin at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Feb. 23, for the second of three days of the Metropolitan Championships taking place at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J.
