Men’s Basketball Falls at Stockton

Pioneers bested by Ospreys 69-52

GALLOWAY, N.J. – William Paterson men's basketball (5-4, 2-3 NJAC) could not overcome a poor shooting performance as the Pioneers fell at Stockton (7-2, 5-0 NJAC), 69-52, Dec. 14.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • It was all Stockton early on as the Ospreys raced out to a commanding 28-14 lead with 5:12 remaining in the first half. WP would respond with a 13-2 run that span 3:31, and trailed 36-28 at the break.
  • Stockton would begin the second stanza on an 18-6 burst to push the advantage to 20 (54-34, 13:06) and never looked back, settling on the 17-point triumph.  
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) registered his seventh double digit scoring output of the season, finishing with a game-high 16.
  • Junior forward Nasir Fields (Winslow Twp., N.J./Winslow Twp.) led all players with nine rebounds and added 11 tallies in 18 minutes of action.
  • WP shot a season-low 29.0% (18-62) from the field, including 7-28 (.250) from three-point range.
 
UP NEXT:
  • WP heads to Center Valley, Pa. for the opening round of the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament against Juniata Saturday, Dec. 28, at 4:00 p.m.
