2019 ECAC Tournament Central
DANBURY, CONN. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (8-8-2, 4-4-1 NJAC) has been selected to compete in the 2019 ECAC Tournament, and will play Wilkes (8-8-1, 4-3 MAC Freedom) in the first round Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Albright College.
The Pioneers are the third seed in the ECAC's Pod 4, while the Colonels are the second seed.

WHAT'S ON THE LINE:
- The advancing team moves on to the quarterfinals Sunday, Nov. 17, at 12:00 p.m. at Albright against either fourth-seeded Penn State Harrisburg (11-10-1, 7-2-1 NEAC) or the top-seeded and host Lions (12-8, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth).
WP IN THE ECAC TOURNAMENT:
- WP is making its third ECAC Tournament appearance in the last four years (2000, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019), and the Pioneers are seeking their second title (2009).
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS:
- William Paterson is coming off a 2-0 loss at Rowan (10-7-1, 4-4-1 NJAC) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament first round Nov. 2.
- The 2019 NJAC Offensive Player of the Year and a four-time first-team all-conference selection, senior forward Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) paces the team in goals (12) and points (28). She was the 2018 NJAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, the 2016 ECAC Metro Region Rookie of the Year and the 2016 NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year.
- Senior midfielder Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus), an honorable-mention all-NJAC pick each of the last two seasons, owns five goals and a team-best six assists.
- Honorable-mention all-league junior midfielder Danielle Dachowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) has tallied 13 points (5 g, 3 a), while four-time all-NJAC selection Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) has collected five goals and an assist as a senior midfielder. Senior forward Corrine Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls), also an honorable-mention all-conference designee, owns four goals and four assists.
- Junior Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) has compiled a 1.51 goals-against average, .763 save percentage and three shutouts while starting 15 matches in goal. Senior back Ashley Cozzi (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South), a starter in all 74 career contests, garnered second-team all-NJAC laurels this fall.
SCOUTING THE COLONELS:
- Wilkes is coming off a 2-0 loss at Stevens (14-3-1, 7-0 MAC Freedom) during the MAC Freedom Tournament semifinals Nov. 5.
- Sophomore midfielder Emily Bidelspach paces the Colonels with six goals and 14 points, earning a spot on the All-MAC Freedom Second Team. First-team all-conference senior forward Jessica Egan has added five goals and three assists.
- Senior goalkeeper Samantha Cecere owns a 1.57 goals-against average, .707 save percentage and three shutouts in 15 starts.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- The two teams squared off Sept. 11 in Wilkes-Barre, but the match wasn't finished due to lightning in the area. The Colonels have won two consecutive 1-0 decisions against the Pioneers – Sept. 12, 2018, at WP, and Sept. 13, 2017, at Wilkes.
