WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson women's soccer's (5-4-2, 1-2-1 NJAC) defense held No. 7 The College of New Jersey (10-1, 4-0 NJAC) at bay for most of the match, but the Lions were able to escape with a 1-0 victory Oct. 5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• TCNJ got on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute when a corner kick deflected out to the top of the box and Kelly Carolan converted to inside of the left post.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) collected seven stops in goal for the Pioneers, and was helped by team saves in the 17th and 56th minutes.

 
UP NEXT:

• William Paterson finishes a three-match homestand Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7:00 p.m. against NYU.
