Men’s Soccer Draws Host The College of New Jersey, 2-2

Pioneers Aided by Goals from Fuentes, Gadaleta

EWING, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (4-4-3, 1-1-2 NJAC) picked up a point in the conference standings with a 2-2 double-overtime draw at The College of New Jersey (9-2-2, 1-1-2 NJAC) Oct. 2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior forward/midfielder Chris Fuentes (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) got on the end of a long through ball from freshman midfielder David Moreira (Pittstown, N.J./North Hunterdon), finishing from in tight for a 1-0 Pioneer edge in the 27th minutes.
  • Freshman back/forward Johnny Gadaleta (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) extended the lead to 2-0 at the 46:53 mark when he headed in Kyle Adams' (Bordentown, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) free kick.
  • The Lions got one goal back three minutes later, then leveled the score at 2-2 in the 63rd minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Hatch (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) made eight saves for WP.
  • Fuentes netted his third goal of the season, Moreira had his team-leading third assist, Gadaleta scored his second career marker and Adams notched his fifth career helper.
