WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson women's tennis (0-7, 0-5 NJAC) captured singles wins from senior
Nicole D'Ascoli (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) and junior
Carly McDaniel (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton), but the Pioneers ultimately dropped their home contest, 6-3, to visiting Ramapo (4-2, 2-2 NJAC) Oct. 4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Kowaru Ishikawa and sophomore Jiyeon Kang (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) put together a competitive showing in first doubles before dropping an 8-6 decision. In the third double flight, the tandem of sophomore Anna Nunziato (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) and McDaniel battled back to force a tie breaker, however, Ramapo took the match 8-7 (7-3).
- McDaniel would regroup in her singles flight, upending Megha Mehta in three sets 4-6, 10-7, 10-7.
- In fifth singles, D'Ascoli registered her most impressive showing of the season, topping Liz Gamba in straight sets 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
