ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Despite an early goal and a tied score at the end of regulation, the William Paterson field hockey team (7-10, 0-5 NJAC) fell 2-1 to Cedar Crest (6-9, 2-2 CSAC) after the Falcons scored a goal two minutes into overtime Oct. 26.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) notched her third goal of the season eight minutes into the first quarter.
• The Pioneers held the lead for the entire first half.
• Cedar Crest found the back of the cage in the 32^nd minute to make the score 1-1.
• A Falcon tapped in her own rebound to finish the game in the 62^nd minute.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore goalie Tara Weniger (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) posted six saves.
• The Pioneers tallied four shots on goal. 

 
UP NEXT:

• William Paterson travels to No. 10 Kean to finish the season Oct. 31.  The contest begins at 7:30 p.m.
