Dachowski Strikes Twice, Women’s Soccer Registers Critical 2-1 Victory

Pioneers Keep Playoff Hopes Intact with Three-Point Effort

CAMDEN, N.J. – Junior midfielder Danielle Dachowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) struck twice during a four-minute span, lifting the William Paterson women's soccer team (7-7-2, 3-4-1 NJAC) to a 2-1 victory at Rutgers-Camden (5-11, 4-4 NJAC) Oct. 26.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After the Scarlet Raptors seized a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute, Dachowski headed in freshman back Kayla Miler's free kick to tie the match at the 51:02 mark.
  • Dachowski finished an Ashley Cozzi (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) corner kick at the 55:01 mark for a personal brace and a 2-1 Pioneer advantage.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) made three saves for the Pioneers.
  • WP is tied for sixth in the league standings with Kean (3-4-1) with one match remaining. The top six teams will qualify for the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament.

  • William Paterson finishes the regular season Wednesday, Oct. 30, at home with a Senior Night match against Ramapo at 7:00 p.m.
