MONTCLAIR, N.J. –The William Paterson field hockey team (7-9, 0-5 NJAC) could not respond to a Montclair State (9-6, 1-3 NJAC) second quarter goal, resulting in a 1-0 loss to the Red Hawks in NJAC play Oct. 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Red Hawks took advantage of a corner and sent the ball past the Pioneer defense a few minutes before halftime (26').
WP denied all other Montclair State shots for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore goalie Tara Weniger (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) recorded a pair of saves.
