WAYNE, N.J. –The William Paterson field hockey team (7-7, 0-3 NJAC) had an early lead but was unable to hold off the Roadrunners, resulting in a 2-1 overtime loss to NJAC rival Ramapo (6-8, 1-1 NJAC) Oct. 16.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nicole Goitiandia (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) recorded her second goal of the season in the tenth minute to post a 1-0 early lead against the Roadrunners. The senior capitalized on scoring during a corner.
- The Roadrunners leveled the score shortly after (12'), but both teams were unable to find the back of the cage again during regulation.
- Ramapo used a corner as an opportunity to notch the game winner in the 65th minute to end the contest with a 2-1 score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore goalie Tara Weniger (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) posted five saves.

The Pioneers return to Wightman Stadium for Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 18, at 6:00 p.m. for an NJAC contest against Stockton.
