Women’s Soccer Bested at Stockton, 2-1

Adelman Scores Team-Leading 10th Goal for Pioneers

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (5-6-2, 1-3-1 NJAC) dropped a 2-1 decision at Stockton (12-1-1, 4-0-1 NJAC) Oct. 12.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Ospreys tapped in a cross for a 1-0 edge at the 13:08 mark, but the Pioneers answered just nine seconds later when senior midfielder Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) played ball that senior forward Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) finished to the lower-left side of the frame.
  • Stockton scored the game winner in the 64th minute with a shot to the lower-left corner of the goal.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman Brooke Sachau (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) collected six saves for the Pioneers.
  • Adelman's 10th goal of the season increased her career totals to 60 goals and 137 points, both third on the WP career charts.
