MADISON, N.J. – Although tied after 70 minutes of play, the William Paterson field hockey team (6-4) dropped a 3-2 double-overtime decision at FDU-Florham (9-2) Oct. 1. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Devils scored twice within one minute in the third quarter.  FDU-Florham found the back of the cage in the 44^th minute, then shortly after at the 44:22 mark.  
• Junior Kristin Freas-Papa (Westville, N.J./Gateway Regional) converted a penalty stroke (56') to get the Pioneers on the scoreboard.
• Sophomore Abigail Viola (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) tapped in a shot from classmate Hope Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) at the 57:22 mark to tie the game before the end of regulation.
• The Devils responded 33 seconds into double-overtime to end the contest, 3-2.  

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior goalie Kerianne Brown (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) tallied eight saves.
• Addlesberger notched a defensive save, the second of her career.
