Macchia was a Double Winner as Men's Swimming and Diving Fell Short of Ramapo

WAYNE, N.J. – Senior Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) recorded two victories against the Roadrunners, but the men's swimming and diving team (9-5, 0-3 NJAC) fell short of Ramapo (4-5, 1-3 NJAC), 150-55, in the last home meet of the season Jan. 29.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Senior Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) touched first in the 50 free (22.60) and the 100 free (49.34) to earn double winner status against Ramapo.
Junior Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) notched second place in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.74 and the 100 free with a time of 51.19.
Sophomore Bradley Belina (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) swam the 500 free in 5:26.03 to take third place.
Junior Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) tallied second place for the 1000 free (10:59.03) and third place for the 100 back with a personal best time of 1:02.83.
Junior Terrence Hopkins (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) recorded a new personal best time for this season in the 100 breast (1:12.64).

UP NEXT:

The men's swimming and diving team travels to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2:00 p.m. for the last meet before heading to the Metropolitan Championships later in February.
