WAYNE, N.J. – Senior CeCe Green (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) scored a career-best 24 points and classmate Julie Rovito (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) notched her third 20+ point scoring output of the season as the William Paterson women's basketball team (9-8, 5-5 NJAC) knocked out the top team in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) for the second time this season, downing Montclair State (11-6, 7-3 NJAC) 75-62 Jan. 16

HOW IT HAPPENED:

With MSU ahead 35-22 with just over four minutes left in the half, Rovito's steal and fast break layup capped off a 9-1 burst as WP entered halftime trailing 35-31.
  • William Paterson began the second stanza firing on all cylinders as back-to-back three-pointers by Rovito gave the Pioneers the lead, 37-36. MSU would level the score at 43-43, but Alisa Giordano's (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) corner three highlighted a 7-0 run as WP took a 50-47 edge into the fourth quarter.
