Multiple Double Winners Help the Men's Swimming and Diving Team to a Victorious First Meet of 2019

The Men Defeated Lehman, 113-77

Junior Jimmy Sharkey collected wins in the 1000 free and the 500 free.

BRONX, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (6-3, 0-1 NJAC) dominated their meet at Lehman (4-5, 1-2 CUNYAC), 113-77, Jan. 12 to collect their third straight victory.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Junior Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) recorded two victories against the Lightning men. He swam the 50 free in 23.30 and the 100 back in 1:04.90.
Another junior double winner, Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) touched first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:05.00 and the 500 free with a time of 5:25.00.
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) notched his two victories in the 200 IM and the 100 free. The senior swam the races in 2:17.60 and 51.40, respectively.
Sophomore Jonathan Vela (Prospect Park, N.J./Passaic County Tech) touched the wall in 1:02.40 to defeat his opponents in the 100 fly.
