Video Highlights 

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (1-2) won its home opener 2-0 over Centenary University (0-2) Wednesday evening at Pioneer Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Junior midfielder Morgan Bringoli's (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) header off a Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) corner gave the Pioneers the lead in the 36th minute.
• Moffiitt nearly doubled the lead just before half but her shot hit off the post while Michaela Stanton's (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) rebound was pushed high by the goalkeeper.
• Junior forward Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) took Stanton's through pass and buried home an insurance goal in the 89th minute.
• The Cyclone's Rachel Colt tallied eight saves in goal.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore goalie Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) recorded eight saves while posting her first career shutout.
• WP has now won five straight matches over Centenary.
