Quaye Provides the Offense in 2-0 Men’s Soccer Triumph

Pioneers Defeat Visiting TCNJ for Three Points in NJAC Race

Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – Junior midfielder Dromo Quaye (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) provided all of the night's offense as the William Paterson men's soccer team (6-3-1, 2-2 NJAC) defeated visiting The College of New Jersey (7-3, 1-2 NJAC), 2-0, Sept. 29.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior midfielder Cameron Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./Saint John Vianney) served a free kick that junior forward Keysean Brant-Sharp (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) got his head onto, and TCNJ keeper Daniel Mecadon deflected into the crossbar. When the ball came down, Quaye was in the right spot at the right time, knocking it over the line for a 1-0 edge in the 29th minute.
  • Sophomore midfielder/back Jordan Rosenblum (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) sent a pass to Quaye less than three minutes into the second half, and a right-footed finish to the left side of the frame made it a 2-0 Pioneer advantage.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior goalkeeper Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) recorded one save for the Pioneers and moved into sole possession of fourth place on the WP career shutouts list with his 10th blank sheet.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson finishes a three-match homestand Wednesday, Oct. 3, against DeSales at 7:00 p.m.
