Tennis Upended at Manhattanville, 6-3

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The William Paterson University women's tennis team (0-4, 0-2 NJAC) was upended by Manhattanville College (1-0) in non-conference play on Sept. 27.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The tandem of Samantha Cruz (Andover, N.J./Central ) and Delia Rodriguez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Technical Institute ) got WP the point in third doubles, recording an 8-6 decision.
Rodriguez earn her second victory of the afternoon with a straight set win, 6-0, 6-2, over Manahattanville's Lauren Fitzgerald.
Junior Julienn Guzman (Jersey City, N.J./Liberty) had her best showing of the season, posting a 6-2, 7-5 triumph in the fourth singles match.
Trailing 5-1 in the second set, Cruz battled back to take the next five games before dropping the tie breaker, and the match, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
