WAYNE, N.J. –Three goals, two defensive saves, and one shutout by William Paterson field hockey (4-5, 0-0 NJAC) players combine for a 3-0 victory at Union (3-4, 0-1 Liberty League) on Sept. 26.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior forward Corinne Lenzinger (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees) recorded her first goal of the season in the 18th minute to jumpstart the scoring
- Freshman forward Abigail Viola (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) finished out the first half scoring by collecting a goal in the 30th minute
- Junior forward Michaela Meillier (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross) tallied the third and final goal of the game in the 59th minute
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goalie Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) notched her second shutout of the season and sixth of her career
- Junior back Alexis Land (Monroe, N.J./Monroe Twp.) and freshman back Haley Olsen (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) each collected a defensive save
- Rickerhauser made 10 saves to tie her season-high
