WAYNE, N.J. – Behind four goals from
Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville), the William Paterson women's soccer team (4-5, 1-1 NJAC) won their third straight game, a 5-1 decision over the College of Staten Island (5-3, 2-0 CUNYAC) on Sept. 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Michaela Stanton's (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) through ball found a streaking Adelman, who beat the GK with right footed shot to far post to tie the score at 1-1 in the 6th minute.
- Adelman's second score put WP ahead for good as she took Kristen Bowe's (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) pass and smashed home her 10th goal of the season.
- Bowe got in on the act just before halftime, as she buried a rebound for her first goal of the season.
- At the 50:34 mark, Lorraine Moffitt's (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) corner found and unmarked Adelman who headed home her third goal of the evening.
- The junior forward would tally her fourth score two minutes before full time, stealing the ball around midfielder and beating the goalie 1v1.
- Staten Island's Lauren Smith opened the scoring in the 5th minute, lofting a shot beyond the outstretched arms of Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue).

- WP moves to 4-0 all-time against the Dolphins.
