WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (3-4, 0-0 NJAC) fell short against Arcadia (4-2, 0-0 MAC Commonwealth) in overtime Sept. 19 despite making scoring efforts throughout all three periods.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshman midfielder Hope Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) recorded the first goal of the game in the fourth minute with an assist from junior forward Brianna Reyes (Selden, N.Y./Newfield)
- Junior forward Michaela Meillier (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross) tallied a goal in the 23rd minute thanks to an assist from freshman back Abigail Viola (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township)
- Arcadia scored in the 30th and 52nd minute to take the teams into overtime
- Arcadia wrapped up the overtime game with a goal in the 80th minute
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goalie Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) saved 13 shots on goal
- Reyes and Viola both notched their first assists of the season
- Meillier's goal was the seventh of her career
